GM-600XT posts are the ideal post for silt fencing and erosion control they can be stapled to hold fabrics . GM-600XT posts can be used for the retention of geofabric's.
Outdated Landscape Staking specifications that call rigid posts often in 50-100mm square hardwood posts that do not allow flex relying on the rubber or other ties to the trunk and retards the root growth. GM-600XT post do allow flex as the GM-600XT post will flex but maintain tree plant.

Change will be made to clause 304.10.02 PLANTS sub clause 13 , MainRoads WA

13. Unless otherwise specified in the Drawings, all stakes shall be durable hardwood, straight, free from knots and twists and pointed at one end, stakes shall not be made of metal. Plant ties shall be a minimum 25mm black rubber or hessian cloth reinforced rubber ties or other approved non-abrasive material.

The release of this specification will be early 2019 , in the interim Main Roads have authorised the adoption of this new specification which allows the GM-Posts to be used for plant stakes roadside and this is being promoted to advance sustainability , recycling and safety.

Confirmation of this change to the specification can be verified with Nigel Rowe Main Roads WA Environmental Officer 08 9622 4740.

Selecting the correct stake is also important where establishment of trees on roadsides and adjacent to traffic areas and playing grounds. The Stake should not be a hazard and should be frangible.
With the tree tied firmly between two GM-600XT post with a flexible rubber band that prevents rubbing on the tree trunk and with the Flex in the GM-600XT post movement of the trunk helps strengthen it by thickening it and giving it taper from bottom to top. Trunk movement also stimulates root growth.
As the GM-600XT post is a great insulator it is possible to electrify tree guards for the extreme protection of the new plant !
